Although pain is a part of life and faith, and even though we grow in our resiliency through it, it still stinks. I have some friends and close associates who are going through periods of pain and trial right now, and, yes, I have great hope for them. But the present remains difficult. And like Job's friends did when he embarked on his period of tribulation, I think it is time to remain silent and recognize that their suffering is great (Job 2:13). So, now I simply listen.
