I haven't posted a blog in a week or so. Things have been quite hectic as my family and I have been preparing for quite a significant change in our lives. Recently, I was given full membership as a clergyperson in the United Methodist Church, which allows me to be appointed full time within the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. My District Superintendent has seen fit to appoint me to a full-time senior pastor position in Madison Heights, VA, so come June, we will be moving churches as well as our primary residence. Naturally, this involves a great deal of packing, preparation, manual labor, and stress. To add complexity to the equation, I will be out of town for the first three weeks of June. So, needless to say, our lives have taken a turn for the "busy."
I appreciate everyone's prayers as my family and I begin this new journey into ministry. We are excited but also naturally a bit apprehensive. Regardless, we know that God reigns supreme and as we sing the words of Isaiah, "Here am I, send me," we know he will equip us with everything we need to do whatever work he lays ahead of us.
If there are long periods between blog posts, don't worry. I am not giving on the blog. Just know that I am busy transitioning.
I hope everyone is well.
God bless.
Mark
